About Me

Textile has been a long standing interest of mine. From an early age I have enjoyed customising garments using embroidery, beads, applique and fabric paint. I went on to do a BTEC National Diploma in Fine Art and Textiles. I graduated with a Ba (Hons) in contemporary textiles surface design in 2007 and I have been designing a range of bags, stationary products, pin cushions and one off items.

I am inspired by quirky images, when designing my constant form of inspiration is decorative objects and small clusters of everyday objects, the collection of colours, shapes and textures appeal to me. I show this in my work by collecting bits of found material, pattern and buttons.

My favourite material to work with is felt and patterned fabrics I find that they have a nice contrast. I have recently been designing a collection of bags for life which are all hand decorated and these are available in a variety of sizes and colours. All my products are handmade and embellished using sequins, felt, hand and machine embroidery and elements of recycled fabrics. Each bag is unique. From my bags I have gone on to design a range of greeting cards, pin cushions, cushions and decorations.
